Among these various challenges, finding and activating every single landing platform is essential for players looking to achieve one hundred percent completion in their Field Guide. These colorful structural pads do not appear automatically with standard map markers, meaning witch and wizard enthusiasts must rely on keen eyesight while soaring high on their flying brooms.
Understanding Landing Platform Mechanics
Landing platforms are large, circular stone structures decorated with distinct house banners that ignite with bright flames once a player lands successfully on them. There are twenty of these unique installations hidden across the different geographic regions of the world map. Activating these locations systematically completes specific tiers under the exploration tab of your primary Field Guide menu.
Unlike Merlin Trials or Floo Flames, these specific objectives will not show up on your mini-map even if you cast Revelio while flying nearby. Players must manually scan the cliffs, valleys, and ruined castles from a high altitude to spot them. Successfully tracking down every spot unlocks the coveted Quidditch Captain cosmetic gear set for your character gear collection.
North Highlands and Valley Locations
The northern portion of the world map contains several platforms that are relatively easy to find if you follow the natural terrain lines. In the North Ford Bog region, you can find a platform resting on top of a wooden scaffolding structure just south of the local small hamlet. Moving down into the Hogsmeade Valley, another platform is nestled quietly on a cliffside overlooking a small bandit camp near the eastern mountains.
The North Hogwarts region features two distinct platforms situated near the massive castle grounds to test your early aviation skills. One is positioned nicely along the rocky northern cliffs, while the second sits on a high hill overlooking a small river system. Flying systematically from east to west through these valleys ensures you will not miss these early exploration rewards.
South Hogwarts and Feldcroft Regions
As you progress further south through the game world, the geographical verticality increases significantly, requiring more careful aerial exploration. The South Hogwarts region holds a single platform placed prominently on a high cliffside just south of the Aranshire hamlet. This particular spot offers an excellent view of the Great Lake and the surrounding mountain pathways.
The coastal Feldcroft region contains four separate platforms, making it one of the most dense zones for this challenge. You can find them resting on high stone ruins, rugged coastal cliffsides, and overlooking active bandit fortifications near the western beaches. Taking your time to circle each mountain peak in this area guarantees a successful hunting trip.
The Long Journey to the Southern Coast
The remaining platforms are scattered across the lower sections of the map, including the Poidsear Coast, Marunweem Lake, Manor Cape, Cragcroftshire, and Clagmar Coast. Many of these structures are hidden adjacent to massive ancient ruins or perched precariously on top of isolated sea stacks rising from the water. Players should make sure to upgrade their broom tracking speed at the Hogsmeade sports shop to make navigating these massive oceanic distances much faster.
An excellent strategy for locating any missing structures is to completely zoom out on your main world map screen. Hovering your cursor over individual county zones displays a comprehensive regional checklist on the right side of the screen. This helpful interface feature lets you quickly isolate exactly which territory still requires a thorough search.
